1.What cookies are

Cookies are small text files that a website saves in your browser to remember information from one page to the next. Similar tools, such as the browser’s local storage (localStorage), work in the same way. Some are essential for the website to work; the others are only switched on if you choose.

The website uses two categories: necessary cookies, always on, and external content, which stays off until you give your consent.

2.Necessary cookies

They are needed for the website to work and do not require consent.

  • qtr_consent (QTR Academy cookie, 6 months): remembers your cookie choice.
  • qtr_albo (QTR Academy cookie, 12 months, renewed on every visit to the register): remembers that you have already filled in the form to see the register of professionals from this browser. It only contains a date and a signature, no personal data. You only receive it after sending the form.
  • qtr:announcement-dismissed (browser local storage): remembers that you closed the announcement bar at the top of the page, for 3 days or until the announcement changes.
  • qtr:waitlist-popup-until (browser local storage, 7 days): avoids showing you the waiting list invitation again after you have closed it.
  • qtr:promo-popup-closed (browser local storage): remembers that you closed the box with featured initiatives, so that it is not shown again until it changes.
  • Tab memory (qtr:promo-popup-shown, qtr:overlay-shown, qtr:albo-unlocked, qtr-quiz:v1; browser session storage, cleared when you close the tab): avoids showing you several boxes during the same visit, takes you back to the register list after the form and keeps your quiz answers until you finish it.
  • qtr_area_flash (QTR Academy cookie, reserved area only, a few seconds): shows the confirmation message after you save something.
  • Reserved area sign-in cookies (next-auth.session-token, next-auth.csrf-token, next-auth.callback-url; QTR Academy cookies, up to 7 days): only used by people who sign in to the reserved area with their own account (staff, teachers, students). Website visitors do not receive them.
  • Security check on forms (Cloudflare Turnstile, provided by Cloudflare, Inc.): when a form appears on screen or you start filling it in, your browser loads a check from challenges.cloudflare.com that tells people apart from automated programs (bots). Usually you see nothing; sometimes it may ask you for a click. It uses your IP address and technical information about your browser and device only for this check and to improve protection against bots: it does not use profiling or advertising cookies and is not used to identify you. It is a security measure needed for the forms to work and does not require consent. Details in Cloudflare’s Turnstile privacy addendum (opens in a new tab).
  • Temporary form code (QTR Academy, kept in the page’s memory, not a cookie): our server gives it to the form when it appears and checks it when you send it, to reject automated submissions. It only contains the type of form, the time and a signature, no personal data, and it disappears when you close the page.

The language does not depend on a cookie: it is set by the page address (English pages start with /en).

3.Visit statistics

The website does not use any visit statistics or analytics tools. If we decide to use them in the future, we will say so on this page and switch them on only with your consent.

4.External content

Some pages contain content provided by Google Ireland Limited. It is only loaded after you consent to the “External content” category, from the banner, the preferences or the button shown in place of the content.

  • YouTube videos: they load in privacy-enhanced mode from youtube-nocookie.com. Until you give your consent you see a box with a button to switch them on and a link to watch them on YouTube.
  • The Google Maps map on the Contact page: until you give your consent you see the address and the links to open the map on Google Maps.

When this content is active, Google may use cookies and similar tools under its own privacy policy (opens in a new tab).

The Google reviews shown on some pages include their authors’ names and profile photos. Our server downloads the photos and shows them from our website: your browser does not connect to Google to display them.

5.How to change your choices

You can change your preferences at any time with the “Manage cookies” button at the bottom of every page or on this page. Your choice lasts 6 months; after that we ask again, and sooner if we add a category or a provider.

You can also delete cookies and local storage from your browser settings: in that case the banner appears again on your next visit.
